Tickets are valid for travel on York Region Transit (YRT) buses including TTC and Brampton buses operating in York Region.
If unvalidated, the ticket must be shown to the operator and placed into the fare box.
Validated tickets must be shown to the operator and placed into the fare box. A new transfer will be provided to the customer upon request.
Tickets are valid for travel on Viva vehicles when properly validated (date and time-stamped) by a vivaNow ticket validator. VivaNow machines are located at all vivastations and terminals.
If a oneRide ticket is purchased it is already validated and ready for travel immediately (does not need to be validated in the vivaNow).
Validated tickets are valid for 120 minutes from the date and time stamped on the individual ticket.
Customers on TTC-operated routes are required to pay a TTC fare for trips crossing the Toronto-York boundary (Steeles Avenue).
Passes are valid for unlimited travel on York Region Transit (YRT/Viva) including TTC & Brampton Transit services operating in York Region.
Passes must be shown to the driver when boarding a YRT/Viva, Brampton Transit or TTC bus operating in York Region, or upon request to Transit Enforcement when on-board a Viva vehicle.
Passes must be retained by the customer during their trip.
The Student pass is valid for full-time secondary school students with a valid student ID card only. The student's name must be clearly printed on the back of the pass.
The Senior pass is valid with proof of age.
Customers on TTC-operated routes are also required to pay a TTC fare supplement for trips crossing the Toronto-York boundary (Steeles Avenue).
Tickets and passes remain the property of York Region Transit and are subject to confiscation without refund if the holder violates any of these conditions, alters the tickets or pass or tries to use it unlawfully.
Tickets and Passes must not be altered or reproduced in any fashion.
Tickets and Passes are non-refundable.
Tickets and Passes will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

Transfers will be accepted on YRT/Viva from the following transfer authorities as long as they have not expired.
Transfers will NOT be refreshed. Customers must retain their original transfer and travel must be completed by the two hour issuance time.
Route 77 drivers will no longer refresh Brampton Transit transfers with YRT transfers.
Effective August 22, 2010, ride Viva orange between Downsview Station and York University with your TTC pass or transfer.
How it works
Use your valid TTC pass ( Day, GTA, Weekly or Monthly Metropass ), valid TTC transfer or valid YRT / Viva fare media.
Viva orange northbound: Board at Downsview Station, Dufferin-Finch or Murray Ross for travel as far north as York University.
Viva orange southbound: Board at York University, Murray Ross or Dufferin-Finch.
TTC route 196 York University Rocket will continue to operate every two to 15 minutes. Viva orange will continue to operate every 10 to 15 minutes.
Viva buses will continue to drop off customers at Downsview Station outside the fare-paid area. A valid TTC fare will still be required to enter Downsview Station.
Proof-of-Payment required on Viva
Viva orange is a proof-of-payment service. Valid YRT / Viva fare media, a valid TTC pass or valid TTC transfer is required for use of the service between Downsview Station and York University, and must be presented upon the request of YRT / Viva Enforcement staff or you may be subject to a warning, fine or criminal charge.
Restrictions
YRT / Viva fare media is not valid for entry into TTC subway stations or TTC buses, except those operating in York Region.
TTC fare media is only valid on Viva orange between Downsview Station and York University.
