What is Talk2YRT?
Talk2YRT.ca is a multimedia question-and-answer (Q&A) website for York Region Transit (YRT/Viva). The interactive platform allows you to view existing Q&A's about YRT/Viva, submit your own questions and follow the status of unanswered questions you're interested in.
How does Talk2YRT work?
It's simple--explore existing question-and-answers (Q&A's) or ask your own!
Q&A's are in video, image or text format--we choose the format that will help answer your question in the best way possible. If you found a particular Q&A helpful, you can "upvote" and share it with your social network.
The "tag cloud" near the top of the page shows popular topics other visitors are looking at. The search function allows you to look for any question you have that may have already been answered or received. Since questions will be posted before they are answered, we've made it easy for you to "follow" any question we are working to answer. Followers, and the person who originally submitted the question, will be notified when an answer has been posted.
We have organized the Q&A's using the same categories you'll find on the YRT/Viva website at yrt.ca. To view Q&A's for a specific topic, click on the appropriate category (i.e. About Us) in the filter row.
How do I ask a question?
To ask a question, type it into the search box. Existing Q&A's matching your search term will appear. If you see a match for your question, click on it and you'll be taken to the answer. If your question hasn't been asked before, hit 'enter' to continue submitting your question. You'll need to prove you're human by authenticating your identify via Facebook, Twitter or email. Once complete, your question will be submitted to the Talk2YRT team for review.
Who can ask a question?
Anyone! Customers, residents, businesses... everyone is welcome.
Who's answering my question?
The Talk2YRT team consists of YRT/Viva staff who receive and approve your questions. Once a question is approved, they will research and gather the information needed to answer your question using an appropriate format (text, image or video). Our team works with subject matter experts from all job functions at YRT/Viva to ensure your questions are answered as accurately and thoroughly as possible.
How long will it take for a question to be answered?
We're working as quickly as possible! Check back regularly as we are constantly updating Talk2YRT with Q&A's. You can also "follow" any question we are working to answer. Followers, and the person who originally submitted the question, will be notified when an answer has been posted. If you need an answer to something right away, please contact us.
Who can I talk to if I have a question, complaint or need technical support for Talk2YRT?

For specific Talk2YRT inquiries, email firstname.lastname@example.org.You will receive a response from us within two business days. If you have a spam filter, add email@example.com to your address book to ensure our response doesn't end up in your junk mail folder.
Why do I have to provide my personal information or sign in through Facebook or Twitter to ask my question?
We need some of your personal information to verify that you are a real person. Your first name and the first initial of your last name will be attached to the question you've submitted when it is posted publicly. By choosing to authenticate your identity with Facebook or Twitter, your social media profile will be used as your identification We ask for your email address so that we can notify you when your question has been approved and when an answer has been posted. We may also need to contact you if we need to clarify something about the question you asked. Your information and privacy is very important to us. What if I'm not satisfied with an answer?
The Talk2YRT team works hard to answer your question(s) with the most accurate and thorough information that is currently available. Sometimes, the information you are looking for may not be fully available when the question is asked. We'll be continuously reviewing questions and updating answers when new information becomes available.
Why was my question rejected?
If your question has been rejected, you will receive an email from the Talk2YRT team with an explanation. There are a few possibilities as to why your question was rejected. Listed below are a few reasons why your question will not be accepted:
- It's a subjective comment or statement and not a question
- It contains profanity
- The question has already been asked and responded to
- It violates any terms of our Community Policy
