Travelling at Night – Request Stop

If you ride York Region Transit after 9 p.m. (including TTC vehicles operating north of Steeles Avenue), you can get off between stops, closer to your destination. All you have to do is let your bus driver know where you wish to get off at least one stop ahead. To meet your request, your driver must be able to stop safely. For added safety and security, please exit at the front doors.

Request Stop is not available on Viva. To maintain frequent schedules, Viva vehicles can only stop at designated vivastations.

CCTV (closed-circuit television)

YRT vehicles and properties are outfitted with security cameras. Our security camera program is meant to deter vandalism and provide evidence of incidents that occur on our bus fleet and in our terminals

Video footage is not archived and is only retrieved from a bus or terminal if requested from police or YRT officials as evidence to a particular event. Only Special Constables have the authority to retrieve video footage from a bus or terminal under the Enforcement Supervisor's direction.
