Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the terminal located?

The terminal is located at Major Mackenzie Drive West and Amusement Drive, just west of Jane Street, in the City of Vaughan. The terminal is within walking distance of Canada’s Wonderland and Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital.

When will it open?

The west side of the terminal will open on Sunday, November 6, 2022, and the east side will open in early 2023. In preparation for the full opening, YRT service will relocate to the west side of the terminal in the meantime. There will be four bus platforms on the west side where travellers can board and depart the bus.

When the terminal fully opens in 2023, YRT buses will transfer service to the east side the terminal.

Why hasn't the terminal fully opened yet?

The contractor is working to complete finishing touches to the building on the east side of the terminal. Once complete, driver and staff training will take place, then the terminal can fully open.

We are aiming to have the terminal fully open to travellers in early 2023. Thank you for your patience.

Which bus routes will service the terminal?

The terminal will be serviced by the following YRT routes starting Sunday, November 6:

  • 4 – Major Mackenzie
  • 20 – Jane
  • 720 – Hwy 407/Wonderland
  • 760 – Vaughan Mills/Wonderland

Mobility On-Request will service the terminal in spring 2023.

What can I expect when the west side of the terminal opens on November 6?

Travellers will be able to board or depart their bus on the west side of the terminal (platforms 9 to 12 as shown in the map below). The west side of the terminal will be serviced by YRT Routes 4 – Major Mackenzie, 20 – Jane, 720 – Hwy 407/Wonderland and 760 – Vaughan Mills/Wonderland.

The terminal building is located on the east side and will be fully accessible. The building will contain climate-controlled and naturally-ventilated passenger waiting areas, seating, washrooms, free public Wi-Fi and transit information displays.

The terminal exterior will have landscaped areas, seating and a passenger pick-up/drop-off area. There will also be a pedestrian connection from the terminal to Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital.

Who does the new terminal serve?

In addition, travellers will be able to connect to routes that take them to Vaughan Mills Mall, TTC Line 1 subway and local neighbourhoods. Mobility On-Request services will also stop at the terminal in spring 2023.

The terminal is designed to be accessible from every direction to pedestrians, cyclists and transit customers. Travellers can also be dropped off at the passenger pick-up and drop-off area.

How does the new terminal affect commuters on YRT?

The terminal provides travellers with greater comfort, convenience and accessibility compared to the current curbside stops in the area. Customers will be able to find their way to their bus by clearly posted, real-time route signs throughout the terminal.

Is there an area for picking up and dropping off people at the bus terminal?

Yes. Passenger pick-up and drop-off is located on the west side of Amusement Drive.

How can pedestrians access the terminal?

Pedestrians may access the terminal via sidewalks on Major Mackenzie Drive West and Amusement Drive. There will also be a pedestrian connection from the terminal to Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, opening in 2023.

The walking distance to the hospital and Canada’s Wonderland is approximately five minutes from the terminal.

Is there parking at the terminal?

There is no parking at the terminal. Customers may access the terminal by taking transit, walking, cycling or being dropped off. A passenger pick-up and-drop off area is located on the west side of the terminal.

How are cyclists accommodated at the new terminal? Can they ride to it and is there a place to lock your bike?

The terminal can be accessed by a multi-use path on the south boulevard of Major Mackenzie Drive West. Bike racks will be conveniently located near the bus terminal building, opening in 2023.

How do I pay my fare? Can I buy a ticket at the terminal?

For those who do not have the above payment methods or exact change, oneRide fare machines will be available on both the east and west sides of the terminal when fully open in 2023. The fare machines will accept debit and credit.

Can I reload my PRESTO card at the new terminal?
