Fare category definitions
4Children: Ages six to 12 years. Children five years and under ride free.
5Proof of valid GO Transit fare required. Children (ages six to 12) must tap their PRESTO card on and off GO Transit to ride free on YRT.
Two-Hour Transfer: YRT fares let you travel on any YRT vehicle in any direction for two hours with just one fare. Travel must be completed within two hours of fare issue/activation.
Customers riding the system without valid fare may be subject to a fine or criminal charge.
Travelling on TTC in York Region
Customers must pay YRT fare when travelling on TTC routes north of Steeles Avenue.
YRT customers can receive a free transfer when connecting to and from the TTC, using a PRESTO card, credit or debit or PRESTO in Mobile Wallet payment on a PRESTO device. Customers must continue to pay YRT fare when travelling on TTC routes north of Steeles Avenue. Please continue to tap on and off the TTC bus if you are crossing the Steeles Avenue boundary; you will not be charged another fare if you are within the two hour transfer window. Fare payment on TTC routes south of Steeles Avenue and the TTC subway is not included in the Fare Capping Program.

Proof of age is required upon request for all fare categories. Any government-issued identification (or photocopy) will be accepted. Children without valid ID may be asked to confirm their age with questions such as which school they are currently attending. |

Are there any additional discounts for seniors? |

How does Ride to GO work? |
|
Ride to GO lets customers travel on YRT for free when showing proof-of-payment for a trip on GO Transit. Ride to GO is available on any YRT and TTC route in York Region travelling to or from GO Transit services. You must use a PRESTO card, PRESTO in mobile wallet, credit or debit card on a PRESTO device, or have valid GO Transit fare. For more information, visit the Ride to GO page. |
