Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day is held annually on March 18 to commemorate transit drivers and workers and show our thanks for the important work they do.

Transit keeps our community connected and thousands of people rely on it every day. YRT is an essential service with individuals working 24-7 to keep York Region moving. From dispatchers, to mechanics, drivers, inspectors, enforcement, customer service and all transit workers, everyone plays an integral role in the transit family.

To all YRT and Mobility On-Request workers, thank you for always keeping us moving, rain, snow or shine; we are grateful for all the work you do!

Join us in recognizing transit drivers and workers by using #ThanksTransit on social media, or by offering a kind “hello” and “thank you” to your driver.

Have a memorable transit moment? Enter the Transit Memories Contest with a favourite story and be entered into a monthly draw to win a prize. Visit the YRT 25th Anniversary page to learn more.
