Transit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day is held annually on March 18 to commemorate transit drivers and workers and show our thanks for the important work they do.

New Route 414 – St. Katharine Drexel School Special starts March 18

Starting Monday, March 18, 2024, students attending the new St. Katharine Drexel Catholic High School at 55 Meridian Drive, in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville may use Route 414 to travel to and from the school.
Service will operate on school days and meet the morning and afternoon bell times. There will be one trip in the morning and one trip in the afternoon.

Take YRT to the MURC in Town of Georgina

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, the new Multi-use Recreation Complex (MURC) will be opening in the Town of Georgina at Garrett Styles Drive and Woodbine Avenue.
York Region Transit (YRT) makes it easy to get there – see below for a list of routes that can take you there.
- Route 50 – Queensway: Customers can transfer to On-Request Keswick to travel to the MURC
- NEW Route 51 – Keswick: Provides local service in the community of Keswick, connecting residents to the MURC (weekday service begins March 4, 2024)

Starting Monday, February 26, 2024, Ontario’s One Fare Program will provide transit riders with free transfers when connecting to and from the TTC and York Region Transit (YRT), using a PRESTO card, credit, debit or PRESTO in Google Wallet.

YRT will provide service to the Recreational Outdoor Campus (ROC) in the Town of Georgina, when open.
The ROC's official opening date is Saturday, January 6, 2024. Visit the ROC's website for more information, including hours of operation.
