Town of Aurora

Aurora Community Arboretum

Location:

100+ acres east of Industrial Parkway North, between St. John's Sideroad and Wellington Street, Aurora

Description:

The Aurora Community Arboretum is 100+ acres in size within the Town of Aurora parkland between Wellington Street to the south and St John’s Sideroad to the north along the valley of the East Holland River.

The Aurora Community Arboretum is also adjacent to the Lake to Lake Cycling Route and Walking Trail. The route is a 121-kilometre recreational and commuter trail that will connect Lake Simcoe to Lake Ontario. Visit the Lake to Lake Route page on York Region’s website to learn more.

Aurora Historical Society and Hillary House National Historic Site

Location:

15372 Yonge Street, Aurora

Description:

Built in 1862, Hillary House is recognized by the National Historic Sites and Monuments Board as one of Canada’s best examples of Gothic Revival architecture. It contains a significant collection of medical instruments, books, papers, household furnishings, and equipment dating from the early nineteenth to the late twentieth century and is open to the public as Hillary House, the Koffler Museum of Medicine.

Aurora Town Square

Location:

50 Victoria Street, Aurora

Description:

This facility offers a variety of amenities and activities, including arts and culture events, entertainment, shopping, and dining. The square features a 29,000 square-foot outdoor area designed for community gatherings, performances, and other events.

Theatre Aurora

Location:

150 Henderson Drive, Aurora

Description:

Theatre Aurora is a key performance venue within the town. They provide affordable, high quality, diverse and relevant theatre that engages the community both as audience and as creator. They are volunteer run and operated. In 2020, they received the Arts and Culture Award from the Town of Aurora.

Town of East Gwillimbury

Nokiidaa Trail

(also accessible in Aurora and Newmarket)

Location:

The Nokiidaa Trail system extends through Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury. The trail follows the Holland River and connects with East Gwillimbury in the north and Aurora in the south.

Description:

The Nokiidaa Trail in East Gwillimbury follows the Holland River through the Rogers Reservoir Conservation Area, an 84-hectare area situated along the banks of the East Holland River. It consists of a mix of deciduous forest, pine plantation, wetland and meadow habitats.

Sharon Temple National Historic Site and Museum

Location:

18974 Leslie Street, Sharon

Description:

The Sharon Temple was constructed by the Children of Peace, an Upper Canada Quaker sect from 1825 to 1831. The Temple is an architectural symbol of their vision of a society based on the values of peace, equality and social justice. It opened as a museum in 1918 and was designated a National Historic Site in 1990 because of its historic and architectural significance.

Location:

Description:

The ROC is a multi-amenity facility offering four-season recreational and adventure activities for residents and tourists.

Township of King

King Trail – Seneca Polytechnic

Location:

Seneca Polytechnic King Campus, 13990 Dufferin Street, King City

Description:

The trails at Seneca Polytechnic have been described as one of the best kept hiking secrets in Ontario. Experience old growth forests, rolling hills, meadows, wetlands and the historic pathways of Eaton Hall.

Flato Markham Theatre is one of Canada’s premier theatre houses serving the GTA and Markham residents. Mill Pond Park

Location:

Mill Street and Trench Street, Richmond Hill

Description:

Go to Mill Pond Park and attend a free concert during the summer or walk the trails year-round. The Concerts in the Park series at Mill Pond Park have been one of the great joys of summer in Richmond Hill since 1975. Visitors enjoy an exciting line-up of musical talent in genres including blues, country, rock and roll, celtic, tribute bands and children’s acts. The Wave Pool (Lois Hancey Aquatic Centre)

Canada's Wonderland

Latcham Art Centre

City of Toronto

Travelling to and from the City of Toronto is easy with YRT. YRT services six subway stations where you can connect to the TTC subway to travel to Toronto.

If you need to transfer from YRT to the TTC, you can transfer for free within the two-hour transfer window when you use a PRESTO, debit or credit card on a PRESTO device. You must use the same PRESTO, debit or credit card when transferring to receive a free transfer. Please visit the One Fare Program page for more details. 

You can also take YRT to a GO Station and take GO Transit to Toronto. With Ride to GO, the YRT portion of your trip is free when you use a PRESTO card.

Bike 'n' Ride

YRT makes it easy for you to commute with your bike and take the bus to get to your destination.

All our buses are equipped with two bicycle racks and are designed for easy loading and unloading. You pay regular fare but your bike rides for free.

You can also lock up your bike at one of over 410 YRT bicycle racks at more than 100 locations across York Region. Each rack has room for two bicycles.
