Get out this summer and see the Region up close with York Region Transit (YRT). YRT offers local, rapid and specialized transit services in all nine York Region municipalities, as well as connecting services in the City of Toronto.

Town of Aurora


Theatre Aurora

Location:

150 Henderson Drive, Aurora

Description:

Theatre Aurora is a key performance venue within the town. They provide affordable, high quality, diverse and relevant theatre that engages the community both as audience and as creator. They are volunteer run and operated. In 2020, they received the Arts and Culture Award from the Town of Aurora.

Aurora Community Arboretum

Location:

100+ acres east of Industrial Pkwy N, between St. John's Sideroad and Wellington St. E. 

Description:

The Aurora Community Arboretum is 100+ acres in size within the Town of Aurora parkland between Wellington Street to the south and St John’s Sideroad to the north along the valley of the East Holland River.

The Aurora Community Arboretum is also adjacent to the Lake to Lake Cycling Route and Walking Trail. The route is a 121-kilometre recreational and commuter trail that will connect Lake Simcoe to Lake Ontario. Visit the Lake to Lake Route page on York Region’s website to learn more.

Aurora Historical Society and Hillary House National Historic Site

Location:

15372 Yonge Street, Aurora

Description:

Built in 1862, Hillary House is recognized by the National Historic Sites and Monuments Board as one of Canada’s best examples of Gothic Revival architecture. It contains a significant collection of medical instruments, books, papers, household furnishings, and equipment dating from the early nineteenth to the late twentieth century and is open to the public as Hillary House, the Koffler Museum of Medicine.

Town of East Gwillimbury

Nokiidaa Trail

(also accessible in Aurora and Newmarket)

Location:

The Nokiidaa Trail system extends through Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury. The trail follows the Holland River and connects with East Gwillimbury in the north and Aurora in the south.

Description:

The Nokiidaa Trail in East Gwillimbury follows the Holland River through the Rogers Reservoir Conservation Area, an 84-hectare area situated along the banks of the East Holland River. It consists of a mix of deciduous forest, pine plantation, wetland and meadow habitats.

Sharon Temple National Historic Site and Museum

Location:

18974 Leslie Street, Sharon

Description:

The Sharon Temple was constructed by the Children of Peace, an Upper Canada Quaker sect from 1825 to 1831. The Temple is an architectural symbol of their vision of a society based on the values of peace, equality and social justice. It opened as a museum in 1918 and was designated a National Historic Site in 1990 because of its historic and architectural significance.

Town of Georgina

Beaches and Jackson's Point

Location:

Along Lake Drive North and Metro Road North in Georgina.

Description:

Enjoy a day at the beach at one of Lake Simcoe’s beautiful sandy beaches and parks.

Recreational Outdoor Campus (ROC)

Location:

26479 Civic Centre Road, Keswick

Description:

YRT offers seasonal service to the ROC in the winter. The three-lane snow tube hill, complete with a carpet lift offers thrills for all ages. Enjoy the toboggan hill or test your skiing/snowboarding skills on the ramps, rails, bumps and jumps in the Terrain Park. Travellers with a season pass can ride YRT for free to the ROC.

Township of King

Location:

Description:

Explore King’s heritage community and you will be delighted by the quality of dining establishments, quaint cafés and unique local shops.

King Trail – Seneca College

Location:

Seneca King, 13990 Dufferin St, King City

Description:

The trails at Seneca College have been described as one of the best kept hiking secrets in Ontario. Experience old growth forests, rolling hills, meadows, wetlands and the historic pathways of Eaton Hall.

City of Markham

Unionville and Markham Village Main Streets

Location:

Main Street Unionville and Main Street Markham

Description:

Both Unionville and Markham’s Main Streets welcome you with all their charm and over 200-year history. Beautiful heritage homes, churches and shops line the streets. Unionville hosts festivals throughout the year that draw several thousand visitors.

Flato Markham Theatre

Location:

171 Town Centre Boulevard, Markham

Description:

Flato Markham Theatre is one of Canada’s premier theatre houses serving the GTA and Markham residents. With over 300 live performances each year, the Theatre features live performances, concerts, comedy shows and family entertainment throughout the annual professional entertainment season held September through May.

Town of Newmarket

Riverwalk Commons/Fairy Lake/Main Street

Location:

200 Doug Duncan Drive, Newmarket

Description:

Experience festivities at the Newmarket Riverwalk Commons. This urban park is a community landmark that links Newmarket’s trail system and Fairy Lake to the downtown core and features a water pool (great for child play!) that is transformed into a skating rink during the winter months. Experience the Farmer’s Market, concerts and events. Adjacent to Riverwalk Commons is Newmarket’s Main Street, filled with specialty shops and restaurants.

Upper Canada Mall/Market & Co.

Location:

Description:

Just a short walk from Newmarket GO Bus Terminal, Upper Canada Mall on Yonge Street provides another great shopping experience with more than 200 stores. The Mall is also home to Market & Co., which offers a curated selection of artisans, merchants and eateries.

Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts

The Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts is a 600-seat cultural facility on Yonge Street in the heart of Richmond Hill’s downtown core. Experience a wealth of top Canadian and international artists, and sensational live performances in this state-of-the-art performing arts venue.

Mill Pond Park

Location:

Mill Street and Trench Street, Richmond Hill

Description:

Go to Mill Pond and attend a free concert during the summer or walk the trails year-round. The Concerts in the Park series at Mill Pond has been one of the great joys of summer in Richmond Hill since 1975. Visitors enjoy an exciting line-up of musical talent in genres including Blues, Country, Rock and Roll, Celtic, tribute bands and children’s acts. There is much to be enjoyed at this special place, including its beautiful trails.

The Wave Pool (Lois Hancey Aquatic Centre)

Location:

5 Hopkins Street, Richmond Hill

Description:

Enjoy yourself at the wave pool for a day, featuring a warm water swirl pool and a thrilling 160-foot twisting water slide. After playing in the waves get comfortable and relax in the large on-deck sauna, guaranteed to help you unwind.

City of Vaughan


Canada's Wonderland

Location:

Jane Street and Major Mackenzie Drive, Vaughan

Description:

Since 1981, Canada's Wonderland has been the premier destination in Ontario for thrills, family fun and world-class entertainment. The amusement park features more than 200 attractions including 17 roller coasters, two children's areas, and Splash Works, the 20-acre water park.

Latcham Art Centre

Location:

2 Park Drive, Whitchurch-Stouffville

Description:

The Latcham Art Centre is a community art gallery and member of the Ontario Association of Art Galleries. Exhibitions feature traditional and contemporary work by local and provincial artists. Latcham Art Centre inspires the community to engage with visual art through exhibitions of contemporary art and education programs including classes, workshops, artist talks and tours.

City of Toronto

Travelling to the City of Toronto is easy with YRT. YRT services six subway stations where you can connect to the TTC subway to travel to Toronto. TTC fare is required on the subway.

You can also take YRT to a GO Station and take GO Transit to Toronto. Ride for GO for free on YRT with a PRESTO card.

Bike 'n' Ride

YRT makes it easy for you to commute with your bike and take the bus to get to your destination.

All our buses are equipped with two bicycle racks and are designed for easy loading and unloading. You pay regular fare but your bike rides for free.

You can also lock up your bike at one of over 390 YRT bicycle racks at more than 100 locations across York Region. Each rack has room for two bicycles.
