Transit Memories Contest 

York Region Transit is celebrating 25 years of connecting people and communities, and we want to hear from you! 

What has transit meant to you over the years? 

As we celebrate this milestone, we’d love to hear the moments that made transit meaningful to you. Whether it was your first bus ride as a child, a quiet moment on your daily commute or a pleasantly unexpected encounter that left a lasting impression. 

Share your transit memories with us in writing or video and feel free to include a photo!

Every eligible entry will be entered into a monthly random draw to win one of nine (9) YRT prize packs, which include:

• YRT 25th anniversary prize pack
• YRT anniversary jersey
• $25 PRESTO card
•  PRESTO card holder

Your story may be featured on YRT’s social media channels and other promotional materials as part of our celebration.

Open House Events

Join us for a free, family-friendly Open House at one of York Region Transit’s (YRT) Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facilities!

Celebrate 25 years of YRT service with a behind the scenes look at how YRT gets their buses and staff ready for daily service. Some of the activities include:

• Bus wash
• Crafts for kids
• Refreshments
• A meet-and-greet with staff
• On-bus facility tour (Richmond Hill facility only)

Bring a camera to capture some memorable photo opportunities!

Registration Information:

• For safety and security reasons, attendance at each Open House is limited to 100 people per day
• Pre-registration is required
• If you are registering for more than one person, please complete a separate registration form for each attendee
