Rent a YRT bus for your event

Need transportation for a special event, community activity or corporate function? York Region Transit (YRT) offers charter services to help meet your group's transportation needs. 

Our team will work with you to plan a safe, reliable and efficient transportation solution. With service available throughout York Region, YRT offers buses that can accommodate a variety of group sizes and travel requirements. 

Charter Information

Charter Cost 

Regular charter rate: $169 per bus per hour.

Charter rate for Regional departments, local municipalities in York Region, non-profit community groups and publicly-funded school boards: $131 per bus per hour.

• A minimum three-hour charge will be applied to each chartered vehicle each time it leaves the garage
• Rates are adjusted on May 1 annually based on terms of YRT’s performance-based operations and maintenance contract, including Statistics Canada’s Consumer Price Index, and Toronto, Ontario area rates
• Pricing structure is approved and mandated by York Regional Council and is non-negotiable

 Things to Know Before Booking:

• Provision of charter services is subject to bus availability
• Charters requested during weekday peak periods will be at YRT’s discretion. These hours are: 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday to Friday 
• YRT primarily operates charter services within York Region boundaries and can accommodate requests to operate outside of these boundaries provided the start and/or end location is within the Region
• Please complete a Charter Request form no less than 15 business days prior to the event date
• There are two bus models available. Please indicate which bus you are interested in when you fill out the form:
• YRT 40-foot diesel bus - 40 person passenger capacity 
• YRT 60-foot diesel bus - 70 person passenger capacity
