York Region Transit (YRT) is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026 and we're starting the celebrations this fall by marking 20 years of Viva service in York Region!

You can now add your PRESTO card to Apple Wallet

With PRESTO in Apple Wallet, you can tap to ride using your iPhone or Apple Watch!

Metrolinx is making it more convenient to choose transit by offering customers another way to pay their fare by tapping a digital version of the PRESTO card in Apple Wallet, on an iPhone or Apple Watch.

This new payment option is now available on York Region Transit (YRT), GO Transit, UP Express, Brampton Transit, Burlington Transit, Durham Region Transit, Hamilton Street Railway, MiWay (in Mississauga), Oakville...

Download the new YRT On-Request mobile app

Book a round trip between your home or any address and a preselected location in your service area using the new YRT On-Request App, available on the App Store and Google Play.

With a few taps, book an On-Request ride in the app and our technology will secure your trip and York Region Transit (YRT) vehicle.

• Request a pick-up or drop-off time
• Get picked up at your curb

Citymapper Now Shows YRT Bus Detours in Real Time

YRT riders using the Citymapper app can now benefit from a new feature that shows when a bus travels off its regular route.

Citymapper uses real-time bus GPS data to track YRT buses and compare their paths to the planned routes. If a bus skips a stop multiple times, Citymapper identifies a detour and updates the map to show the change.

The updated map shows blue lines for the route that the bus is taking and “x’ icons for the missed stops along the scheduled route. The detour alert will be removed...
