Citymapper now shows YRT bus detours in real time

YRT riders using the Citymapper app can now benefit from a new feature that shows when a bus travels off its regular route.
Citymapper uses real-time bus GPS data to track YRT buses and compare their paths to the planned routes. If a bus skips a stop multiple times, Citymapper identifies a detour and updates the map to show the change.
The updated map shows blue lines for the route that the bus is taking and “x’ icons for the missed stops along the scheduled route. The detour alert will be removed...

York Region is offering the Transit Assistance Program (TAP) to help make transit more affordable for eligible residents.
Eligible TAP participants can receive a 50% discount on regular adult single ride York Region Transit (YRT) fare using a PRESTO card. This includes a two-hour transfer window. After 40 trips, rides are free for unlimited travel for the remainder of the calendar month.
Reminder: Participants need to reapply for the TAP every year.

Mobility On-Request Paratransit Live Chat Update

Starting November 3, our Live Chat tool (in the bottom right corner) will include a new feature for Mobility On-Request Paratransit riders!
Before starting a chat, you’ll be able to choose the topic you need help with from a menu of preselected options. You will also be able to chat with a Trip Reservationist to book your ride.
This update will make it easier to find answers—even outside of Live Chat hours.
You can still chat with a Customer Service Representative during regular Contact Centre hours
Take YRT to the Health and Active Living Plaza

The Health and Active Living Plaza (HALP) is opening on October 17, 2025, in the Town of East Gwillimbury and YRT can take you there!
There are multiple transit options to get to the HALP:
- Route 50 – Queensway: Now servicing the HALP
- On-Request North-Central: YRT’s on-demand, ride-sharing service
- On-Request 65+: For seniors traveling within 5 kilometres of their home
- Mobility On-Request Paratransit: York Region’s door-to-door, shared ride, accessible public transit service for people with disabilities
Lost something on YRT? We’ve made it easier to report it!

We’ve launched a new and improved Lost and Found process to make it easier for you to report your lost items.
If you’ve misplaced something on a YRT vehicle or at a facility, simply fill out our new online Lost and Found form with details about your item, where you lost it, and when. Our team will do their best to locate it for you!
