Transfer for free between YRT and TTC starting February 26

Starting Monday, February 26, 2024, Ontario’s One Fare Program will provide transit riders with free transfers when connecting to and from the TTC and York Region Transit (YRT), using a PRESTO card, credit, debit or PRESTO in Google Wallet.

Download the new YRT On-Request mobile app

Book a round trip between your home or any address and a preselected location in your service area using the new YRT On-Request App, available on the App Store and Google Play.

With a few taps, book an On-Request ride in the app and our technology will secure your trip and York Region Transit (YRT) vehicle.

YRT Fare Capping Program replacing monthly passes effective January 1, 2024

Earn free rides by paying with PRESTO! 

Starting January 1, 2024, travellers can ride YRT for free after 40 trips for adults, 39 trips for youth or 28 trips for senior and child in the calendar month, using PRESTO. 

This new fare capping program will replace monthly passes. The last day to purchase a YRT monthly pass is December 14, 2023 (for the month of December). January monthly passes will not be sold.

Mobility On-Request renamed to On-Request

As you may have noticed, York Region Transit (YRT) has renamed its “Mobility On-Request” service to “On-Request.” YRT’s Paratransit services will continue to be named “Mobility On-Request Paratransit.” 

This minor change is being done to help differentiate between the On-Request and Paratransit services.
